Back in Business Again: GTI 5431 – MIA to PHL

After over one month of absence from the Flightsim, it was time to fly again today. I have been busy taking my last exams, finishing my Bachelor Thesis and doing some other things. The summer finally arrived in Europe too, so I preferred to do some outdoor stuff.

Anyway, here it is. I felt like flying some Cargo with one of my favorite aircraft – the 747. This Atlas Air flight is between Miami and Philadelphia, a nice little 2 hour trip up the East Coast.

Take-Off was on runway 30. Via SID PADUS1 we headed towards Freeport, Bahamas and from there on it was up the coast. Landing in Philly was on 09R.

First day back in the office.

The 747 has a very impressive main gear.

Pushback on the Cargo ramp. A lot is going on here: Some Tri-Holers and an AAL B737-800 just took off.

On our way to runway 30. Downtown Miami in the background.

This B767F landed before it was our turn for take-off.

We’ve reached Pennsylvania. On approach for runway 09R.

On short final.

Considering that I haven’t flown in quite some time, I was surprised about my greased landing!

And we’ve reached our final destination: the cargo ramp.

Time for some Philly Cheesesteak and a cold Yuengling. I just realized that exactly one year ago I was at a Nationals – Phillies game in DC. At least I am in the virtual Philadelphia today…

Next flight will either be on UPS MD-11F to Cologne or some other B74F/M1F-flight in the US.

  1. Great report! Have checked almost daily if there were new reports, so it was really nice to see a new one now. That 747 sure looks great! Love the Atlas livery too. Congrats on your Bachelor Thesis.

    cheers, Sveinn
