To the Bay City: ASA 312 – SEA to SFO

After a little absence I found some time to fly again. Also the first flight with my new Graphics Card. It was the last flight on Alaska Airlines for some time, from Seattle to San Francisco. Aircraft was N512AS, a 2008-built B737-800 in special Boeing Dreamliner colors. ETD: 11:55 am PST.

Take-Off in Seattle was on 34R. After an almost 180 degree left turn we will follow our route to SFO. On our way we pass the city of Portland, OR and Eugene,OR. On approach for runway 28R in SFO we will be coming in via Oakland and San Jose.

The weather in Seattle was fairly nice. A few clouds are hanging in the blue skies as we enter the flight deck.

Pushback from the gate.

We’re aligned on the taxiway. Some heavy metal waiting at that remote pier.

Mr. Yellow-jacket has given us the green light and we’re okay to taxi to the active.
Photobucket

What a busy ramp here in SEA today.

Take-Off clearance received on 34R.

And off we go! Puget Sound to our right, the city of Seattle straight ahead.
Photobucket

We completed our left turn and are flying parallel to SeaTac now.

Very nice paint scheme on this bird. It underlines the strong relationship between Boeing and Alaska Airlines.

Above the clouds.
Photobucket

Some traffic coming our way. It was an N-registered Cessna Bizjet.

After all these years the 737 is still a damn good-looking bird! The fuselage is based on the design of the 707.
Photobucket

Descent has started and the weather in Fog City will be indeed foggy and rainy.
Photobucket

Right now it’s still nice outside.
Photobucket

Here, not so much.
Photobucket

That’s too bad: The approach over the bay, Oakland and San Jose usually is very scenic on nice days.
Photobucket

That’s all we see on final approach.
Photobucket

Runway not in sight yet.
Photobucket

But here we are.
Photobucket

Short final 28R. FD was on and Flaps were of course extended, doesn’t show in the replay somehow.
Photobucket

Over the Piano keys.
Photobucket

Time to flare.
Photobucket

Turning off of the active.
Photobucket

On our way to the stand this UAL Airbus just took off.
Photobucket

Some AAL birds sitting at the stand.
Photobucket

And shutdown. It seems that everywhere we go the weather is like this. No scenic approach today sadly.

Next flight will be from SFO to DEN on UAL 767, so stay tuned!

  1. Thanks!
I use the following Add-Ons in FS9: Ground Environment Pro, Ultimate Terrain USA/Canada Alaska/Europe, FS Global 2008, Real Environment Xtreme 2.0 with Overdrive (Reality Set enabled), 3D Contails from REX (found them somewhere on the REX website), Enbseries mod, Ifly 737NG + FlyTampa Seattle + Flightbeam San Francisco on this flight, AES 2.21, custom AI Traffic, Active Camera, Shockwave 3D lights, “korbygen” new autogen textures (available as freeware on avsim), “treegen” replacement autogen tree textures (also on avsim), Active Sky Evolution. I think that’s pretty much it. If you have any other questions, just let me know.
